Welcome to Indian Lane Elementary! At our school, students enjoy learning and are provided a safe and nurturing environment where teachers are dedicated and constantly looking for the best way to meet the needs of their students. Our school is a place where parents are committed to and supportive of the children and teachers.
Located in a residential neighborhood in Middletown Township, Indian Lane strives to provide students with the skills they need to be successful in our ever-changing world. Our academic program is designed to meet the needs of our students as they pursue life in the 21st century. Students are encouraged to expand their knowledge through the integration of technology at all levels of the learning process.
The basic curriculum at Indian Lane includes instruction in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, library, music, and physical education. Our excellent music program offers vocal programs and instrumental music instruction. Recorder instruction begins in third grade for all students. Optional formal instrument lessons begin in fourth grade, with participation in band or orchestra. Fifth-grade students can participate in our chorus.
At Indian Lane, health and safety are our top priority. We have a full-time school nurse, a safe foods list, and protocols for a variety of emergency situations. We also practice safety drills regularly, including fire drills once per month.

Indian Lane Elementary is just such a place.
The school opened in 1992 after being totally renovated and now serves approximately 500 students in grades K-5. Indian Lane is located in a residential neighborhood in Middletown Township. Indian Lane is proud to have been named a 1998-98 School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. The school has also been rewarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for maintaining high scores on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA).
Indian Lane strives to provide students with the skills they need to be successful in our ever-changing world. The school provides students with a variety of technological devices that will assist them in the learning process as well as developing the technical skills to create a variety of final products to demonstrate their learning.

Special education and support programs are available to all students. A variety of supports including a Mult-Tiered Support System(MTSS), math tutoring, reading support, and developmental counseling offer many opportunities to assist our students toward success and reaching their potential. Enrichment, acceleration, and independent study beyond the basic curriculum are available to students through the district's Academically Gifted Program (AGP) in grades two through five. The Accelerated Math Program is available in grades four and five.

Kindergarten students are required to be five years old on or before September 1st of the year they begin school. The A.M. Kindergarten session runs from 9:00 to 11:35. The P.M. Kindergarten session runs from 12:50 to 3:30. Kindergarten students are required to have a physical which may be administered by a family physician. Dental exams are also required when children enter kindergarten and third grade.
Indian Lane teachers communicate with parents on a regular basis throughout the school year. Our teachers value parental input and support. Progress reports are issued three times per school year in November, March, and June for students in through fifth grades. Formal 30-minute parent/teacher conferences are scheduled twice a year in November and March for all grades.
