The Anime Club is a space to share your favorite anime and manga with other people who also love anime and manga. Activities may include watching anime during our meetings, talking about shows that are currently airing, presenting and sharing our favorite anime, and much more!

Coding

The purpose of this club is to bring together any individual(s) interested in computer science and create a community in Penncrest to promote, advance, and learn ideas about computer science. Within the club, we'll be focusing on both software and hardware aspects in computer science as well as its application into real-world scenarios. Please email the coordinator.

E-Sports Club

The Esports Club is a student-run competitive videogame club. We compete in the PIEA league against other schools in Rocket League and Overwatch. PIEA has plans to expand to other games and we hope to cover those in the future. We need a coordinator for this club!

Emanon

Emanon (no name backward) is Penncrest High School’s Theatre Club. Emanon performs three shows a year, seasonally. While we always need actors, it takes many hands to put on a show. We are looking for people to join our team in all of the following areas: performing, tech (lights and sound) art direction, set building, costume/makeup, props, and stage crew. Earn points throughout your Emanon career to be inducted into the International Thespians Society (ITS). Fair Trade Club

Penncrest High School became America’s First Public Fair Trade High School in 2011. We continue to host educational events as part of Penncrest’s commitment to promoting the social, environmental, and economic benefits associated with selling and using Fair Trade items and products.

FBLA

FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. Each student, “competitor”, will be assigned a competitive event that focuses on an area in business (ex: finance, business math, economics, etc.). Students will complete at the regional, state, and national level.

The Gryphon

The Gryphon, Penncrest's Literary Magazine, is published once a year, in the spring. Throughout the academic year any student may submit stories, poems, essays, artwork and photography to be considered for publication by the Gryphon editorial staff, which is comprised of interested Penncrest students of all ages.

Hi-Q

Delco Hi-Q is the oldest running Academic Quizzing competition in the U.S.. 21 high schools participate in Delco Hi-Q. Each team has up to twelve members and each school hosts one contest during the regular season. Team standings are determined by total cumulative team points. Teams are tested in the following categories: American History, American government, Art history, Biology, Chemistry, Current events, Geography, Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Shakespeare, and World History. We spend a lot of time studying together and enjoy being an academic team.

Human Relations

Open to all students, this organization’s focus is to motivate, inspire and unify the PHS BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) community. Through academic, cultural, social and community outreach programs, the club aims to familiarize the entire student body with multicultural experiences.

Improv Club

Join us on Tuesdays in D117 to watch, learn, participate, and laugh with Penncerst's Improv Club. In addition to being fun, improvisational comedy also gives us an opportunity to work on our social and speaking skills. If you are nervous about performing, no worries! Just come and laugh with us.

The Interact Club works to promote community service projects, some in conjunction with Media Rotary, to make a positive impact in the places we live.

International Club

This club welcomes students from all backgrounds and cultures to join in bi-weekly discussions of contemporary topics facing the World. This is an opportunity to be intellectually stimulated by meaningful conversations about things going on outside of the U.S.

Investment Club

The purpose of the Investment Club is to introduce students to the world of investing. Students who are already passionate about investing and those who are just looking to learn the first thing about the topic are all welcome! Students will participate in a global investment competition to learn about investment analysis and fundamentals, teamwork, and research.

Junior Optimist Club

This club helps students to build leadership skills through community service projects. Members are able to lead their own service projects with the assistance of other club members.

Medical Scholars Club

This club is designed to help Penncrest High School students explore educational and professional paths in the Allied Health Sciences. The Medical Scholars Club is open to all students. Club members will be given opportunities to achieve the following goals: Explore careers in the Allied Health Sciences. Model UN

Students in the Model UN Club compete as small teams with their peers. Each team represents a foreign country at a conference (usually held at a local college or another high school) where they debate major global issues of the day against teams from other high schools. Conferences mimic the workings of the United Nations, with the ultimate goal for all student-teams to craft a proposal that addresses the issue in a practical way. This involves research, persuasive speaking, debating, listening, honing diplomatic skills, and spiffing up like an ambassador on the day of the conference.

SADD

Students Against Destructive Decisions is a club that focuses on promoting a safe environment at Penncrest and emphasizes improving the culture at our school. We focus on topics like distracted driving, drug and alcohol use, mental health, toxic relationships, addiction, and bullying. We use posters and social media to spread messages on positive behaviors. Our club has done projects to encourage seat belt wearing among students. We have also raised money for the Providence Animal Shelter through puppy petting at Pride Day.

VEX Robotics

This club is for people with an interest in mathematics, science, robotics, and design. If any of these things interest you it would be great if you joined our robotics club and participate with us in upcoming competitions. VEX V5 is a STEM learning system designed to develop crucial problem-solving skills and computational thinking that will serve students through grade school and beyond. The goal is to plan and design a robot that can quickly and efficiently complete a task.

World Wide Pride is a service committee that exposes the beauty within humanity at Penncrest. We focus on heritage cultures that our society is less attentive to.
